This week we will recap what we have been learning over the past 8 weeks. Today's podcast has a new intro thanks to Jim McCarthy Voiceovers. He rocks. Today is a good day to recommit to living a lower carb lifestyle. Omitting the breads, pastas, baked goods and saying yes to more good fats and fresh vegetables. Give that pantry a good cleaning and hit the market to stock up on fruits and vegetables. It's asparagus season and soon strawberries will be filling market stalls. As it gets warmer I find it much easier to choose lighter, fresher foods. Give it a try.

Today, make some time to contemplate activities in your life where you are in the zone. Fully present in each and every moment. For me that is when I play tennis. For some it is golf, or fishing or hot yoga. Movement that doesn't feel like work where you are focused. It feels great.

Today give this a try. Your third eye, or mind's eye, is thought of as a gate that leads to inner realms and spaces of higher consciousness. It is source of energy and considered a Chakra. Focus your attention here while you sit quietly either by looking towards the center of your eyebrows with eyes closed or with relaxed, closed eyes focus on opening that third eye and letting energy flood your body.

Any time you can incorporate more movement in your day to day is to multitask. A easy way to make brushing your teeth a more active process is to do squats while brushing. In the two minutes you spend brushing your teeth (both morning and night) you can probably do between 25-50 squats. That is really working the quadriceps and the glutes. Over time, these moments of wellness will lead to a stronger you!

Simply getting more steps in can really amp up the number of calories you are burning in a day. An easy way to ensure this is to always park your car in the back of the parking lot. It will take you only an extra minute or two and remember those healthy minutes are cumulative. Over time you will notice a difference in the way you feel when you either make changes to habits or start to incorporate these moments of wellness into your lifestyle.

You are probably unaware of how long your stretches of sitting last. An easy way to reconcile this is to simply set a timer. Use your phone as a timer and set it for 30 minutes. When it goes off make yourself stand up and either stretch or walk about for 2 minutes. Then resume sitting if you must. Take a few deep breaths before starting back to your activity for 5 extra points!

This week we are on a mission for movement. We are going to recognize how long we spend sitting and literally get off our butts. Today's tip for an easy way to move more is simply to take the stairs when they are presented to us. 2 flights here or 3 minutes there OVER TIME can have a big impact. Hey, you don't have to change over night. Pairing this tip with a past one, like, lower carb eating is a great one-two punch. Now, when you see the stairs, think of us like a red little beet sitting on your shoulder cheering you on! You got this.
