A trend in wellness and for weight-loss and detox is Intermittent Fasting. The method we like is the 16:8 method where you eat nothing for 16 hours a day and consume all of your calories in an 8 hour window. When your body is not consuming food, it uses the energy typically for digestion to clean itself more thoroughly. Fasting will accelerate the detox process. Listen in for details.

Grateful for those who show up
Thursday Aug 02, 2018
Thursday Aug 02, 2018
Let's be grateful for the people for who show up for us today. As counterintuitive as it might sound in a world that’s constantly connected, loneliness is on the rise.
Easy to be disappointed in others. Friends that don’t reach out or call back…but what about the ones who do. Be grateful, show them love. And if you have a little extra, seek out the people in your life that care about you and who would love nothing more than for you to reach out to them.

Recap: Safe Sun Exposure
Wednesday Jul 25, 2018
Wednesday Jul 25, 2018
In this episode were going to discuss the safest way to be exposed to the sun.
We need exposure for about 15 minutes each day between the hours of 10 and 2 with zero sunscreen applied for our bodies to make the necessary vitamin D to keep us well.
However longer than that and we run the risk of sunburn. We need to make sure that the sunscreen we are applying is safe and non-toxic. Remembering that the best line of defense is to sit in the shade or to use protective clothing, sunglasses, and a hat when being exposed to the sun for a longer period of time.
Tune in and listen up. It’s summertime and the sun is unavoidable. Be safe.

Recap: Safer Personal Care Products
Tuesday Jul 24, 2018
Tuesday Jul 24, 2018
Each day, as we get ready for our day, we put on our favorite fragrances and cosmetics and unknowingly subject ourselves to toxic chemicals. Over time, these toxic chemicals can cause cancers, tumors, bronchial issues and other health related problems.
There are toxins everywhere. The average US woman puts 168 chemicals onto her body DAILY. Yes, 168. (Men average around 85.)
Since our skin is our largest organ, and absorbs everything we put onto our skin, we need to take measures to ensure that what we put on it is as natural as possible.
Fragrances commonly contain parabens, phthalates, and synthetic musks that may cause hormone disruption, reproductive problems, or possibly cancer
The exact ingredients in synthetic fragrances are protected as “trade secrets” and therefore do not have to be disclosed on the label.
Listen in. Choose safer products and if you want to hear more backtrack in the podcast to the week of May 28th for more.
Also remember www.ewg.org and their companion phone app can help you make better, safer choices.
