Today, let's give our bodies a rest and spend a little time thinking about detox. Please consume lots of fresh filtered water to help your kidneys flush toxins from your system. Add a little lemon to your water and you add some alkalinity help to neutralize your pH levels.
Find a way to sweat - an infrared sauna if you belong to a fitness center or wellness club, some HIIT exercise, or just a simple hot bath. Heat up the body, open those pores and sweat out those toxins. (Note: Not for folks that are frail or have high blood pressure. Always consult your doctor if you make sudden changes to your health routines.)
Start your day with a Green Juice. Go light on the fruit and heavy on the kales, cucumbers, and celery. You're cells will do a happy dance. Continue by eating clean through out the day. As many raw foods as possible. Keep it light.

If you are anything like me, at any given time there are upwards of 25 things to get done TODAY! I can either let these to-dos rattle around in my head and drive me crazy or WRITE THEM DOWN.
Even if you don't feel like you have too much to tackle I encourage you to start your day with a list.
Getting it out of your head and onto a blank sheet of paper can shape your day, give you goals and some sense of order.
Best feeling ever? Crossing all of those things OFF!

If you don't get enough sleep or sleep through the night this wellness challenge is for you.
Start a sleep routine or rituals. Washing and brushing and maybe a bath. Getting to bed the same time everynight and awaken at the same time each and every morning. Even on night's out try to get to sleep at a reasonable hour.
This is what helps me to wind down each night.

Have you been accepting our wellness challenges? Eating fresh, whole foods, staying hydrated and today we expand on this by really focusing in on our breathing.
3 deep breaths today - a few times.
In though your nose, hold at the top briefly and then exhale through your mouth. Slow, conscious breaths. Really feel your chest and belly expand with each breath in. When you breath out, slowly, with purpose, feel your stomach and chest muscles contract.
Just this. A simple breathing practice can give you a little reset, perk you up and keep you buzzing about your day.

Today - shoot for 64 ounes of pure filtered (not bottled, not tap) water. That's 8 glasses of 8 ounces. Get yourself a refillable water bottle. Something large of enough to hold enough water for the morning but not so large that it's too heavy or cumbersome. Remember unless we are taking alot of B vitamins our urine output should be nearly clear. Dark urine is a sign of dehydration.
Staying fully hydrated helps your body flush out toxins more efficiently. You'll perform better if you are fuly hydrated. In fact, your physical performance can be severely impacted if you lose as little as 2% of the water in your body. The result of this can be things like fatigue, and performing exercise will feel a lot more difficult from a mental and physical perspective.
Dehydration is usually the root cause of migraines in many people. However, new studies show that drinking water can be an effective way of treating and even preventing headaches from happening in the first place.

Hey friends, great job last week working together on mindfulness. We will be revisiting mindfulness often in the future but you are into daily meditations I highly recommend the Headspace app (also available on Alexa) www.headspace.com
Today's wellness challenge is about healthy eating. Specifically today we are choosing real live foods and eating nothing in a bag or a box. I once heard that bags are body bags for food; boxes are coffins. All foods in bags and boxes are, for all intents and purposes, "dead" foods. With much less nutritional value than living, raw foods. Choose an apple over chips for a snack. A green salad with a protein over a burger with a processed bun for lunch. A veggies-heavy dinner with a nice portion of lean meat or fish. Snack on things like hard boiled eggs, raw nuts, carrots and celery.
Try it today. If you feel good...give it a few more days. When you grocery shop, stick to the outer edges of the store where you'll find produce, dairy, frozen foods, fresh baked products. You'll take in many less preservatives, additives and chemicals.
And stick with filtered water for your main beverage. Nothing in a bottle or can either.

Quiet yourself and find a point of focus for this quick meditation. Observing something in detail - as if for the first time. When you find your mind starts to wander let it pass ~ then bring your breath and focus back and look for one more detail on your focal object. Conclude with a deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth. Your moment of mindfulness is complete!
